Now... as promised - the defense for the NBA's NFL team. We'll start at the Ends:

Defensive End - Amar'e Stoudemire 6'10 250
Amare/Amar'e ... thats kind of like putting the ' in Hawa'ii.. but besides the point. Amare has a slight build for a DE, but I feel that he could be effective from here. He has great strength and a great frame and I feel that he would effective with his speed. Not to mention this whole line would probably bat-down about 50-60% of pass attempts.

Defensive End - Ben Wallce 6'9 240

Ben has potential, as he was All-State in football in high school (along with Basketball and Baseball). He played Linebacker, but on this team - and with his deteriorating speed, we will use him on the edge as well. The versatility he could provide would be helpful, if he could be used dropping into coverage. Ben has a fairly similiar build to Amare... they are both a bit too slim to be playing end -- but Coach Eric Snow will make the needed schematic adjusts.

I sure hope they would team Tracy Morgan ("Reg") up with Ben Wallace again for the Madden '10

Defensive Tackle - DJ Mbenga 7'0 260
Didier Ilunga-Mbenga as hes known by his Zaire government name... which by the way.. he has no J in his name at all... so I'm kind of curious as to where the name DJ comes from. Anyway, DJ is considered often to be one of the, if not the, strongest player in the NBA. That pretty much makes him the default DT for this team. Plus he has a tremedous future as a Taco Bell endorser for the NFL.

Defensive Tackle - Joey Dorsey 6'8 270

Joey Dorsey is probably the thickest person on this defense, and we could use a little weight. Dorsey is thick, and strong, and would probably serve as a big time trash talker on this squad (For those of you who don't remember, Dorsey told Oden in 2007 that he would have 20 rebounds against Oden - and that Greg was "Overrated" and called him "The Little Man" and that he "Might be as good as Joey Dorsey". Dorsey went for 0 points, 0 FG attempts, and 4 bounds against OSU in a loss.). He is a terrible quality video of Dorsey playing receiver.

Linebacker, Gerald Wallace 6'7 220
I actually recently recruited a player in NCAA 09 with similar measurements at LB. Wallace is an athletic freak who is not afraid to get physical. He would be well suited at LB, as he can do everything that we need from our backers. He has the speed to go sideline to sideline as well as rush the passer. His athletic ability should allow him to drop into coverages well and to stay matched up with tight ends. PS. I really hope the Cavs trade for him.

I may be the only person that finds this VERY erotic.

Linebacker, Craig Smith 6'7 270
Craig Smith may have the most NFL defense-type body... if that makes sense. He is built real solid, and built like a linebacker. He could possibly even make the move to the line, but Craig Smith would be that imposing physical linebacker. He plays basketball with very little fear, and hope that he would bring that same mentallity to the field.

Linebacker, Ron Artest 6'7 260
Ohhhh man... this would be awesome. Imagine would kind of riot Ron could start in the NFL. Just imagine if the whole Palace in Auburn Hills had been drinking since 8AM like most NFL stadiums... and now triple the attendance and you have an NFL stadium. That makes it 3x more likely that there is an idiot that would start a fight with Ron. Ron would probably end up with some manslaughter charges in his first season in the NFL. Besides that, Ron has the physical tools to play linebacker and we all know he has that crazy mentallity that make some linebackers real special.

If you dont want to watch all 5 minutes of the anatomy of a Ron Artest meltdown... just go to the 4 minutes mark as Ron gets really excited when he fouls AK47 on the way to the hope and yells "NO LAYUPS!!"
